The idea for Wandr began during my medical training when my brother became seriously ill while traveling, turning a special trip into a stressful and overwhelming experience. Despite my medical background, I felt helpless—we had no immediate access to the right care, and the situation could have been avoided with proper preparation. That experience stayed with me and shaped how I viewed healthcare access.

As I advanced in my career in emergency medicine, I continued to see systemic barriers preventing patients from getting the care they needed. From unnecessary delays and excessive costs to limited availability of essential medications, the healthcare system often made it difficult for people to access timely treatment. These challenges were even greater for travelers, who frequently find themselves unprepared for common but preventable health concerns.

That’s why I co-founded Wandr—to simplify travel medicine and remove barriers to care.
